Het transformatorstation van het Alpha-platform van offshore windgebied Hollandse Kust (zuid) is onlangs op de onderbouw geïnstalleerd. Het is de eerste verbinding van een offshore windpark naar de Maasvlakte.

Het 700 MW-transformatorstation is op 20 kilometer voor de kust van Den Haag geplaatst. Het is een van de twee transformatorstations die Hollandse Kust (zuid) met het hoogspanningsnet aan wal verbinden.

Aannemer Petrofac heeft de twee transformatorstations Alpha en Beta gebouwd in Dubai. Mammoet verzorgde medio november het transport van de 3.830 ton wegende Alpha naar de Alexiahaven op de Maasvlakte, waar het 21 december arriveerde. Vanuit de Alexiahaven vervoerde de Pioneering Spirit van Allseas het gevaarte naar de installatielocatie op de Noordzee, waar het op de onderbouwconstructie werd geplaatst.

Het tweede 700 MW- transformatorstation – de Beta – zal dit kwartaal worden geïnstalleerd.

Topside installed in North Sea

The topside of the Alpha platform of the offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust (South) was recently installed on the subsea. It is the first connection of an offshore wind farm to the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam.

The 700 MW topside has been installed 20 kilometres off the coast of The Hague. It is one of the two topsides connecting Hollandse Kust (south) with the onshore high-voltage grid.

Colossus

Contractor Petrofac built the two topsides Alpha and Beta in Dubai. In mid-November, Mammoet transported the 3,830-tonne Alpha to the Alexiahaven on the Maasvlakte, where it arrived on 21 December. From Alexiahaven, Allseas‘ Pioneering Spirit transported the colossus to the installation site in the North Sea, where it was placed on the substructure.

The second 700 MW topside – the Beta – will be installed this quarter.
