Shell heeft in RijnDijk Staalconstructies een partij gevonden die staalconstructies voor de nieuwe biobrandstoffenfabriek voor zijn rekening gaat nemen. Onlangs zijn de handtekeningen onder het contract gezet.

RijnDijk zal voor de pre-treatment unit  alle staalconstructies en aanverwante werkzaamheden verzorgen. Bij dit laatste valt daarbij te denken aan onder meer dak- en geveltechniek. Beide partijen hebben hiervoor hun handtekening gezet onder een ‘major construction contract’. Namens Shell deed project director Rob Snoeren dit en namens RijnDijk ondertekende managing director Eric Steijns.

Hernieuwbare diesel

Afgelopen najaar maakte Shell bekend in Pernis een biobrandstoffenfabriek te bouwen.Het wordt de grootste fabriek in zijn soort voor de productie van duurzame vliegtuigbrandstof en hernieuwbare diesel. Naar verwachting gaat de plant in 2024 in bedrijf. De brandstoffen worden gemaakt uit afval, zoals gebruikt frituurvet, dierlijk vet en andere industriële en agrarische restproducten.

Steel constructions for new Shell plant

Shell has found a party in RijnDijk Staalconstructies who will take care of the steel constructions for its new biofuel plant. The signatures were recently added to the contract.

RijnDijk will take care of all the steel constructions and related work for the pre-treatment unit. The latter includes, among other things, roof and facade engineering. Biofuel plant

Shell announced last autumn that it is building a biofuel plant in Pernis, which will be the largest of its kind for the production of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel. The plant is expected to come on stream in 2024. The fuels are made from waste, such as used cooking oil, animal fat and other industrial and agricultural residues.
