Boskalis heeft in de eerste zes maanden van dit jaar mooie resultaten geboekt. De omzet en winst namen sterk toe.

De omzet van Boskalis steeg in het eerste halfjaar van 2022 naar 1,6 miljard euro. In dezelfde periode vorig jaar was dit 1,3 miljard euro. De netto winst nam eveneens toe, van 72 miljoen naar 117 miljoen euro. “Bij Dredging staat veel in het teken van onze werkzaamheden in de baai van Manilla. De aanleg van de nieuwe internationale luchthaven is het grootste werk in onze historie en de contouren van het nieuwe land zijn inmiddels zichtbaar”, aldus Berdowski. In Nederland werkt Boskalis mee aan het versterken van dijken en kustgebieden. “Bij Offshore Energy plukken we de vruchten van onze strategie waarbij we inzetten op multifunctionele schepen en diensten waarmee we in staat zijn om zowel de traditionele markten als de offshore windmarkt te bedienen. Door het aantrekken van de vraag vanuit beide markten hebben we bij subsea services en marine survey een zeer goed resultaat kunnen behalen. Het afgelopen halfjaar hebben we bovendien de Bokalift 2 in de vaart genomen, waarmee we over een van de grootste installatieschepen in de industrie beschikken. Op het moment dat het schip in de vaart kwam hadden we er al voor bijna drie jaar werk voor dit schip op offshore windprojecten in de portefeuille.”

Berdowski gaat niet inhoudelijk in op het bod dat grootaandeelhouder HAL op Boskalis heeft gedaan. Hij verwacht dat volgende maand meer duidelijk zal worden.

Multifunctional vessels

“At Dredging, much of the focus is on our work in Manila Bay. The construction of the new international airport is the biggest job in our history and the contours of the new land are already visible”, says Berdowski. In the Netherlands Boskalis is working on strengthening dikes and coastal areas. “In Offshore Energy we are reaping the benefits of our strategy of focusing on multifunctional vessels and services with which we are able to serve both the traditional markets and the offshore wind market. By increasing demand from both markets, we have been able to achieve a very good result in subsea services and marine survey. In the past six months we have also taken the Bokalift 2 into service, giving us one of the largest installation vessels in the industry. When the ship came into operation, we already had almost three years of work in our portfolio on offshore wind projects.”

Berdowski will not comment substantively on the bid that major shareholder HAL has made for Boskalis. He expects more to become clear next month.
