Het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam schakelt KWS in voor het groot onderhoud aan de Reeweg. Het bedrijf dankt de opdracht aan de slimme faseringen.

De intensief gebruikte Reeweg en het Reewegviaduct verbinden de A15 met de Waal- en Eemhaven, Heijplaat en het Distripark Eemhaven. Beide hebben een onderhoudsbeurt nodig om de levensduur te verlengen. 

Asfalt

Het havenbedrijf gunt het onderhoudscontract aan KWS, dat deze klus samen met Holland Scherm gaat uitvoeren. Het bedrijf zal onder meer het asfalt, de lichtmasten en bewegwijzering vervangen. Ook voert het onderhoud uit aan het kunstwerk en de fietsbrug.

Slimme faseringen

KWS dankt de opdracht aan diens ‘slimme faseringen’. Zo voert het het onderhoud aan de verhardingsconstructie gefaseerd uit, waardoor het aantal weekendafsluitingen wordt gehalveerd. Hetzelfde geldt voor het onderhoud aan de fietsbrug, waar dankzij slimme fasering het werk efficiënter en sneller kan worden gedaan.

KWS voert het onderhoud van eind juni tot eind augustus dit jaar uit.

Smart phasing earns KWS maintenance contract

The Port of Rotterdam Authority has engaged KWS for the major maintenance of the Reeweg. The company owes the contract to its smart phasing.

The intensively used Reeweg and the Reeweg viaduct connect the A15 with Waal- and Eemhaven, Heijplaat and the Distripark Eemhaven. Both are in need of maintenance to extend their lifespan. 

Asphalt

The Port Authority awarded the maintenance contract to KWS, which will carry out the job together with Holland Scherm. The company will replace the asphalt, lighting columns and signposting. It will also carry out maintenance on the engineering structure and the bicycle bridge.

Smart phasing

KWS owes the contract to its ‘smart phasing’. For instance, it is carrying out maintenance on the road construction in phases, halving the number of weekend closures. The same applies to maintenance of the cycle bridge, where smart phasing means the work can be done more efficiently and more quickly.

KWS will carry out the maintenance from the end of June to the end of August this year.
