De aanpassing in de chloorfabriek gaat automatisch dankzij realtime ondersteuning door Vattenfall. Dankzij de samenwerking wordt 40 megawatt aan flexibele capaciteit aan het net toegevoegd. Dit is ongeveer een vijfde van de chloorproductie van Nobian in Rotterdam.

Regelvermogen

TenneT gebruikt regelvermogen om het stroomnet te balanceren. Dit wordt ingekocht bij verschillende leveranciers, waaronder Vattenfall. Het regelvermogen bestaat uit een aantal gascentrales die snel meer of minder stroom kunnen leveren. De chloorfabriek van Nobian wordt hier nu aan toegevoegd.

Wens voor de toekomst

“De samenwerking met Vattenfall is een volgende stap om de flexibiliteit binnen onze processen te gebruiken om te verduurzamen. Flexible chlorine production helps keep grid in balance

When more or less electricity is available, Nobian will adjust the production of the chlorine plant in Rotterdam accordingly. The increasing share of wind and solar energy means there are more fluctuations in the power supply.

Real-time support

The adjustment in the chlorine plant is automatic thanks to real-time support from Vattenfall. Thanks to the cooperation, 40 megawatts of flexible capacity will be added to the grid. This is approximately one-fifth of Nobian’s chlorine production in Rotterdam.

Regulating power

TenneT uses regulating power to balance the grid. This is purchased from various suppliers, including Vattenfall. The regulating power consists of a number of gas-fired power stations that can quickly supply more or less power. Nobian’s chlorine plant is now being added to this.
