Dankzij steun van het DeltaPORT Donatiefonds komt er een maquette van de historische vesting Brielle. Zij wordt bij het Historisch Museum Den Briel geplaatst.

Volgend jaar is het 450 jaar geleden dat ‘Den Briel’ door de watergeuzen werd heroverd op de Spanjaarden. Het was de eerste vrije stad in de Noordelijke Nederlanden, en ook vormde de bevrijding van Brielle de opmaat voor de vorming van de Nederlandse staat. 

Maquette

Met steun van het DeltaPORT Donatiefonds gaan specialisten van Miniworld en twee regionale modelbouwverenigingen een maquette van de historische vesting Brielle maken. De maquette wordt vier bij vijf meter groot, in een schaal 1:1.250. De bouw van de maquette is een initiatief van de stichting Eersteling Der Vrijheid.

Betrokkenheid

Het DeltaPORT Donatiefonds geeft geldelijke bijdragen aan instellingen zonder winstoogmerk die actief zijn op het gebied van welzijn, cultuur, sport en recreatie in de omgeving van Rotterdam. Bedrijven in het havengebied en het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam willen met het fonds hun maatschappelijke betrokkenheid tonen.

DeltaPORT Donatiefonds supports scale model

Thanks to the support of the DeltaPORT Donatiefonds, a scale model of the historic fortress of Brielle will be built. It will be placed in the Historical Museum Den Briel.

Next year it will be 450 years since ‘Den Briel’ was recaptured from the Spaniards by the Watergeuzen. It was the first free city in the Northern Netherlands and the liberation of Brielle was the prelude to the formation of the Dutch state.

Scale model

With support from the DeltaPORT Donatiefonds, specialists from Miniworld and two regional model building clubs will make a scale model of the historic fortress of Brielle. The model will measure four by five metres, at a scale of 1:1,250. The construction of the model is an initiative of the Eersteling Der Vrijheid Foundation.

Social commitment

The DeltaPORT Donatiefonds gives financial contributions to non-profit organisations active in the field of welfare, culture, sport and recreation in the Rotterdam area. Companies in the port area and the Port of Rotterdam Authority want to use the fund to show their social commitment.
